This past weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Vernon, BC to photograph the marriage of Marcus & Brittany. As I said in their engagement post, I have known these guys for quite a while, and knowing their personalities I was very excited for the trip! The weather turned out to be amazing (a tad hot for my tastes though), and the couple followed through with their decision to hike up a small mountain for the pictures – and it paid off! It was much cooler up there, the scenery was great, and we had a great time! I hope you guys have many great years together!
God Bless, Mark
Getting ready…

According to the girls, the boys have it easy…

The ceremony was beautiful

And then the fun began!

The had cool rings, the grooms ring had been handed down a few generations

And then it was time to party!

Congrats again guys, thanks for a great weekend!

I have known Marcus and Brittany for quite a while now, we went to the same college together, but that was a few years ago for me. I was thrilled to hear they were moving to Calgary, excited to hear they had gotten engaged, and honoured when they asked me to be their wedding photographer! They are getting married next Saturday in BC, and I am really looking forward to shooting in a new and engaging environment! Plus it will be a lot of fun! Anyways you guys are awesome to work with, so much fun and great laughs, I can’t wait for next saturday!

Hello friends,
If you are looking for some new-to-you gear that is in great conditions, check out the items I have listed on ebay right now! I am upgrading my camera body, so I have a Canon 30D for sales, as well as a Sigma 10-20 wide angle lens, which also includes the rest of a 10 year canadian warranty (canada only though). Both are in great shape!
The other day I took some pictures of both items, and it was a lot of fun! All I did for the above image was use a white poster for a backdrop, then I bounced 1 speedlite off the ceiling to light the white backdrop, and used the other speedlite on my camera (with a piece of paper as a modifier) to light the lens! Who needs a gian studio?
Here are the links to the auctions:

A while ago my friend Mike Edel performed a show here in Calgary, and as he had let me use one of his songs (Turn the lights on Bright) which is featured on my website right now, I promised to take my gear and snag some performance shots for him. He had 2 other friends join him, Sjoerd Meyer and Kaley Bird. Overall it was a great show, lots of energy, and all three of these guys are great artists I would highly recommend!
You can listen to some of their sounds at the following websites:
Mike Edel – http://www.myspace.com/mikeedel
Sjoerd Meyer – http://sjoerdmeyer.com/?mpf=frame&
Kaley Bird – http://www.myspace.com/kaleybirdband
And here are some shots of the night!
1st act – Sjoerd Meyer

Up next: Kaley Bird

And last but not least, a few shots of Mike Edel & gang (including the fabulous Joe Cheng on violin!
