Anyways, in my explorations I have also come to figure out the reason I do what I do. I can’t put it into words very well, but I know that when I am working with brides and grooms and sharing the first day of the rest of your lives together, it’s all about you.

Hi! I dunno what kind of technical career you had before photography but I'm in a kind of similar situation to yours.. just the opposite :)
I'm a software developer, working for a big corporation, and passion for photography is waking up in me. It's been the recent months that I started learning, each time I take my camera, I learn something new and it's so fascinating. It's such a joy to see my pictures from 6 months ago and now.. and there's a HUGE difference! This whole photography thing adds an entirely new dimension to my life, and it has actually changed how I look at things.
Ok, I don't photograph people, I don't have the courage yet. I only shoot friends occassionally and they are always greateful for the shots, and once they see results of one session, they always want more :)
Anyway.. what I want to say.. this whole photography thing is something I really enjoy doing. I enjoyed software development years ago, at a university level. Now, being a tiny piece in this corporate machine.. working every day in the same office, and the only contact with people is your manager asking you why you didn't meet your deadline.. and meetings, that are just corporate political wars with smiles on everybody's faces. Now this makes me seriously think about quitting my job and changing my career path to something I love. If it wasn't a financial risk, I'd do it right now. Working in a big corporation does give you financial safety. But it is in conflict with the insider in me, the independent dreamer with a passion. Working late hours in a profit-focused company doesn't leave a lot of space in your life for self development & passions. When I get back home, I'm too tired of thinking, so the only thing I think of is preparing dinner, checking facebook and going to sleep :)
Well.. I just thought I'd share, so you know you're not the only one in this world having this problem and this kind of thoughts :) Have a nice weekend!
