Calgary Band Photography – Mike Edel

July 3, 2009

A while ago my friend Mike Edel performed a show here in Calgary, and as he had let me use one of his songs (Turn the lights on Bright) which is featured on my website right now, I promised to take my gear and snag some performance shots for him.  He had 2 other friends join him, Sjoerd Meyer and Kaley Bird.  Overall it was a great show, lots of energy, and all three of these guys are great artists I would highly recommend!

You can listen to some of their sounds at the following websites:

Mike Edel – http://www.myspace.com/mikeedel

Sjoerd Meyer – http://sjoerdmeyer.com/?mpf=frame&

Kaley Bird – http://www.myspace.com/kaleybirdband

And here are some shots of the night!

Excellent work Mark, your creative eye in capturing the moments is awesome. The candid portraits and the B/W crowd action photo is simply captivating. Great to see such credible photography on this blog. cheers from Perry in Sydney
